18/84 MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE SUB-COMMITTEE FOR PROPERTY MEETING HELD ON 20 FEBRUARY 2019

The minutes of the Executive Sub-Committee for Property meeting, held on 20 February 2019, were noted.

18/85 COUNCIL, OVERVIEW AND SCRUTINY BOARD - MATTERS FOR RECONSIDERATION

Consideration of Reports from the Overview and Scrutiny Board
18/86 CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S LEARNING SCRUTINY PANEL - SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROVISION - SERVICE RESPONSE

The Children and Young People's Learning Scrutiny Panel had undertaken a review of School Holiday Provision. A copy of the full report was attached.

 

The scrutiny panel made 13 recommendations upon which a response was sought from the relevant service area. The Executive Member for Education and Skills and the Director of Education submitted a service response to the recommendations of the Children and Young People's Learning Scrutiny Panel. A copy of the response was attached to the submitted report.

 

The Chair of the Children and Young People's Learning Scrutiny Panel presented the final report to the Executive. The Executive Member for Education and Skills presented the service response.

 

It was highlighted that Middlesbrough's bid for funding, from the Department of Education Holiday Activities and Food Research Fund, had been unsuccessful. It was confirmed, however, that funding for the current year had been secured to support the delivery of the Feast of Fun project.

 

A discussion ensued and it was determined that alternative funding options would need to be explored to facilitate the future delivery of the Feast of Fun project.
 

ORDERED

  • That the content of the Children and Young People's Learning Scrutiny Panel's Final Report on School Holiday Provision be noted.
  • That the Action Plan developed in response to the scrutiny panel’s recommendations be approved.

REASON

 

It was a requirement that Executive formally considered the Scrutiny Panel's report and confirmed the Service Area's response to the Panel's accompanying plan.

18/87 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, ENVIRONMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE SCRUTINY PANEL - AIR POLLUTION - SERVICE RESPONSE

The Economic Development, Environment and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel had undertaken a review of Air Pollution. A copy of the full report was attached.

 

The scrutiny panel made 8 recommendations upon which a response was sought from the relevant service area. The Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health and the Director of Public Health and Public Protection submitted a service response to the recommendations of the Economic Development, Environment and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel. A copy of the response was attached to the submitted report.

 

The Chair of the Economic Development, Environment and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel presented the final report to the Executive. The Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health presented the service response.

 

ORDERED

  • That the content of the Economic Development, Environment and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel's Final Report on Air Pollution be noted.
  • That the Action Plan developed in response to the scrutiny panel’s recommendations be approved.

REASON

 

It was a requirement that Executive formally considered the Scrutiny Panel's report and confirmed the Service Area's response to the Panel's accompanying plan.
