The Executive Director of Children, Families & Learning submitted a report which sought approval to the Children, Families and Learning Annual Report on Comments, Compliments and Complaints which was attached as Appendix 1 of the report. The report covered the period 1st April 2010 to 31st March 2011.
The report stated that Middlesbrough Council was required by law to have a complaints procedure. There was also a requirement that an annual report was produced reporting on the number of complaints at each stage, type and outcomes of complaints and the adequacy of the procedures.
The report gave details regarding areas identified during the complaint process which offered the Department the opportunity to improve or change through lessons learnt.
